Justin Spencer Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Thanks, good read. "The problem with a politician’s quote on Facebook is you don’t know whether or not they really said it." –Abraham Lincoln Tales of an Ozark Campground Proprietor Dead Drift Fly Shop
Old plug Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 They have been around for awhile in Missouri. They have traveled all the way thru the St louis Area. I have heard they follow along on the main rivers. They have been confirmed here at the lake but tend to move on quickly. Another hot area is wildwood. My son has several pool customers out there and has seen conservation agents out there on several occasions. But I think it is the same thing. Here today gone tomorrow. I am waiting fir the real destructive animal to make itself known in St Louis county. Mr Armadillo will just love your well kept lawns.
Buzz Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Very interesting. Thanks If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
Haris122 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I am waiting fir the real destructive animal to make itself known in St Louis county. Mr Armadillo will just love your well kept lawns. One summer night a few years back when I was leaving Unger Park in Fenton, I think I saw one running into some brush near one of the homes by that soccer park. It is really surprising how far up eastbound I-44 road-killed Armadillos littered the side of the highway when I was driving back from a friend's wedding in Oklahoma. Never hit me that they were so far up north and east already. Them and major highways really do not mix well.
Terrierman Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 One of the guys here at work had a cougar show up on his game camera Friday in the snow. Galena area. Pretty cool.
Old plug Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Hairis----- They are up there my son sees road kill all the time in far west st louis County. They can be hard to trap. I have shot about 10 in the last year. I use a 410 slug. But if your careful you can walk right up to them and whack them on the head with something. Don't handle them they are known to carry a lot of disease. As too cougars i have nev seen one but ey seem to have more reports along hwy 135 around here.
Smalliebigs Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I saw a couple of Cougars once in Reynolds county on the Black River......they can be very dangerous and hard to deal with. this video might help some of you guys if you are worried about a possible attack http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VshBT5Ua4uo
