You guys got me all fired up with all the stories about fish practically jumping in the boat, and I go out there today and scrape out 5 sub-legal spots. I'm ready for springtime

Fish came on tubes, I threw several jerk baits around, had one nice fish follow one to the boat, but didn't see him until after I pulled the JB out of the water. That kind of day.

Saw some wildlife, a couple of minks several eagles, and saw a road runner on a steep bank down by the water. I see a couple of road runners a year, but they're always around, well, roads. First time I've seen one down by the lake.

Water temp 52-54.

Heard it was tough for others today, too, QB. Didn't get to go myself but must have just been an off-day. Donna and I are going in the morning. Planning to float the Ranger off the trailer at Baxter and work our way down toward KC and over into the James. Might even poke our nose into Aunt's Creek for a bit. Will report back.

Now you tell me! I got out yesterday around the dam area - threw a wiggle, jerk bait and even a spinner early on when there was wind. Only had one thump the jerk bait in flooded timber.

But it was a great day - warm sun, light breeze and the wild life. pretty cool..and none of the Black Friday

stuff..maybe today will be better??

Fished hard around Shell Knob Thurs and Fri. Couldn't get bit on McSticks or warts...Finally tied on a jig and caught keepers only. LM, SPOTS, and a 3 lb 9oz smallie made for a great day. Best bite was on the bottom around 15 ft draggin from the bank. Today should be great! I was hoping for a good jerkbait bite, but jig fishin is just as fun when the bass are big. Is it too warm for jerkbaits?
