woodman Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 The rear hatch door..Just need to make the prop that holds it up and add blocking where the taillights and trailer plate will go..Plus a light on the underside when it is open.. The hinge.. http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/

woodman Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 OH Heck, I got side distracted in January My grandson had a pine-wood derby car I worked on fore him! So I pulled down off a dusty shelf one of my "Old Slot Car Boxes" to get some ideas and the rest of the story! It all ends here: Raytown International Raceway I built a couple of slot car tracks in my spare time while not building cabinets for new homes.... For those on FB....Video: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=vb.523824794&type=2 Pictures: https://www.facebook.com/steve.crawford.3701/media_set?set=a.10152326390084795.1073741826.523824794&type=3 http://s147.photobucket.com/user/scrawford_photos/library/Slot%20Car%20Tracks?sort=6&page=1 http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
woodman Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Ok, I got back on the trailer about a month ago, forgot I even posted on here! I wanted to bring the cedar color from the hatch area to the outside.... Using my airbrush, and water based stain, I started fogging on the lighter stain around the perimeter.... Then, with the darker color to resemble where the trim would have gone.... Still too much white wood so I misted on some more over the entire thing...My finger and hand is going numb. I should have used my small touch up gun..... Ready for epoxy seal coat, I have about a gallon of resin and hardener left over from wood kayak building..And fiberglass cloth is not needed...The cloth is used in kayak building to give the unsupported deck and hull strength..... http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
woodman Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Lights hooked up, getting closer..... The son inlaw gave me some LED's..... Roof vent mounted, fenders, lights , etc...... Took it to the local quarry to get it weighed....Without that big refrigerator it would be Under 1,000 lbs, It weighed in at 1,020 lbs....
