Wayne SW/MO Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I'll look through what I have and see if it's worth it and get with you. Can you do it? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Flysmallie Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Can you do it? How dare you question my abilities old man. I don't have the equipment but my wife's grandmother wants some done so I will be getting equipped soon. Last time I checked it was cheaper to buy the equipment than to have all of hers done. Â Â
Bill B. Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I remember when, one summer evening in the late '70s or early '80s, my fishing buddy claimed he had seen a musky in the deep hole underneath the main bridge. Don't think I believed him. But sometime after that, I heard or read in the news that someone had CAUGHT a musky from that hole. The MDC people said it had been released in there after a hatchery truck had developed problems, or something like that. It had been seen fairly often, and some people had begun deliberately fishing for it with heavier tackle.
laker67 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Two tiger muskies, and two muskies were released in the bridge hole during winter c and r. I hooked and lost one musky, and Harv, from this website, hooked and landed a tiger musky. Most times they laid up in front of the bridge columns.
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Maybe they should continue? That should keep the kids out of the water. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Old plug Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I wonder how many of you fished the white river before Table Rock. I did one time.
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 That was my experience also. We were at RR and went to the White on the way home. I'm not exactly sure where, but I do remember being told the James was just downstream. Like all youngsters we wanted to hit the James also, but there wasn't enough time. I fished Bull Shoals a few times with my dad in the mid 50's and I remember the lake then. The first time we fished it was shortly after it had filled most of the flood pool and the lake was lined with freshly killed trees. I always thought it was so much uglier than the "Lake". Back then, at least in Western MO, "The Lake" referred to LOZ. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I remember seeing some big carp in the fly zone at RR in the 80s, don't know where they came from or what became of them.
