Why wouldn't you go to 2 lb P line flouro clear for the really small jigs? I've got a rig spooled with it and like it so far at least. But only fished it one time on Taneycomo. It is REALLY hard to see.

It would be easier if I just threw my jigs in the trash rather than tie them on 2 lb mono. I'm going to lose them all anyway, but at least I wouldn't spend time tying them on to that skinny line.

I don't own any 2 lb line and I hope to keep it that way. IF you can deal with 2 lb line, I'm 100% in agreement that it would throw the 1/32 oz jig better.

It's not that bad to tie a palomar. I mean it's bad, but not that bad. Depending on how bad you consider that bad to be. If that makes any sense at all. I used to fish 2 lb maxima exclusively for trout in clear water. The p-line seems harder to see. Which might be the line, or older eyes. But I can indeed manage a palomar with it. It's definitely better than the monofilament sewing thread that one of my buddies from the olden days at Union Electric insisted on using. That was impossible for me.

Oh , it ain't the knot tying. My little loop knot is easy to tie and all day strong. The problem is I'll break off every time I set the hook with 2 lb line. I break off a fair amount on the hookset with 4 lb line. I just pull too freaking hard. It's a flaw ingrained from years of bass fishing with old school fiberglass rods and rubber band mono using the dull hooks of yesteryear. When better stuff came along, we bought it, but that's what I grew up on.

I look forward to sharing a boat with you again whenever you get the ok.

how is that Richard Cross? Have not seem him in quite a few years. I've got a picture on my wall of him holding a beautiful arctic char at Ugashik Narrows in South West Alaska. Next time you see him, tell him I said hello.

Sounds like you guys had a fantastic day!

He was looking good and fishing great. He actually talked about catching Char Sunday. I'll try to remember.
