Members Jozark Posted January 22, 2014 Members Posted January 22, 2014 Nice Fish Richy! I love that you are catching fish on big swim baits in January!!! I have had success on big top water swim baits on Table Rock in the spring and fall, and the quality of the bass you catch goes way up! You caught five fish like you have been catching in a tournament you would be in the money for sure! Nice job again!
Moswimb8slinger Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Thanks everyone, i haven't entered any tournaments yet, but I've convinced a buddy who fishes the FLW tour to try swimbaits out after he gets a limit to get some bigger kicker fish
Moswimb8slinger Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Yes, all from the bank, deepest fish was probably 15-20 ft.
Pepe Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Thanks for that report. Are those sinking baits that are fished like a dying shad?
Moswimb8slinger Posted January 23, 2014 Author Posted January 23, 2014 Kinda like that. The S-waver just wonders in a slithering S pattern but give it a twitch, and it rolls slightly and darts, a dying shad is pretty much what you'll try to imitate. The floaters work very good with just a slow steady retrieve, if they were hitting it and stopped, i would occasionally twitch it to entice more bites.

That is hard to do when it is something a little unusual (like maybe living on 1/16oz heads and cut down worms). It is much appreciated. Best forum going because of info like this.
Moswimb8slinger Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 Thanks for the compliment buddy. I get tired of seeing all the tight lipped guys... lay it out there. The thing is the swimbaits, like jigs, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, etc... is just another technique that requires practice, proper equipment and application of the technique.
Sore Thumbs Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Now I gotta go spend some more money dang it.
Quillback Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Now I gotta go spend some more money dang it. Some of the swim baits out there make a Megabass 110 look like a bargain.
