Jason, any idea of your friends budget expectations?

I've started buying up as many of what I consider "the good" older 9.9-35hp outboards and bringing them back to 'like new' condition. But I'm finding that alot of folks aren't willing to pay a fair price for them.

Typically they can be found for 3-500.00 but will need an additional 2-300.00 to refresh them. Maybe a little more if you want it to look nice.

That IMO is still better than shelling out the coin for a new 4-stroke POS.

There are at least 3 things in this world that can never be too big. Two of them are bass and outboard motors. :XD:
