I use the 3.5" mizmo slim jims tubes. They are perfect when trying to match small bait fish or craws. Not a bad days fishing QB, thanks the report and starting the conversation on tubes.

dtrs: I have never rigged a tube with the jig head inside then ran back outside and back into the tube. Certainly would be more weedless, how is the action as compared to open hook setup?

Fishes just as well for dragging, especially with a 1/4oz or heavier head. Still gives the spiral fall, especially with lighter heads. Have started using it on big line and a big rod for flipping tubes as well, eliminates messing with pegs, weight getting hung, etc. Use mostly a 5/16oz head for the flipping, with a heavy walled tube.

Heads are just shakey heads, either poured w/o the spring keeper, or with it folded down towards the hook shank. Works either way.

Gambler has/had their Giggy Stick........I've caught a few fish on them; not enough to throw them with any regularity though.:-(

I've long forgotten about the alka seltzer trick!

Did a search on the Giggy stick, it's looking like they might be out of production, Basstackledepot has some in stock, but limited color selection. The Gambler site has some in 50 count bags, but again, limited colors.

It can be very tough to catch them on a blade or crankbait. Requires some pretty specific conditions to catch more than one here or there with those baits. Primarily wind. The blade was a lot easier back when we had big bushy cedars, but a lot of those are gone.
