aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 it wasnt bad before anybody could go to walmart and by a cheap fishing kayak, and now the boat house rents them out..it is crowded on nice days.
RSBreth Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I think what they're saying is once some other people start seeing some pictures, a whole bunch of people who would not normally go there would start going there adding to the existing pressure. A buddy drove over the 65 bridge a couple weeks ago before it froze on a nice day, counted 9 boats he could see from the bridge. This was not on a weekend. I agree the CPR folks would not change much, but their photos would. You're assuming the pictures would be posted here or somewhere else. You're actually assuming a lot. I'm sorry if you disagree, but whether or not pictures are posted (or not) and whether "some people" see "some pictures" (or not) there's a lot of paddle boats tooling around the lake on any decent day. But I guess we also need to track down snickerdoodles and force him to take down all his YouTube videos, obviously people are seeing them and driving here from all parts unknown just to crowd our little lake because they've seen a fish actually caught from there. Like was said - it wasn't horrible until the boat house started renting little play kayaks. For every guy in a johnboat fishing and minding his business there's 5 or 6 jacka@#$s paddling their little rental pool toys all over where you were trying to fish.
Kee sims Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 The photos don't have to released to anybody. If the photos are only used right after the "tournament" to judge between the people involved on who had the best day. If I catch a fish and snap a few pics on my normal outing what is the difference in me showing them to 5-10 other guys at the bank to see who did the best?
ten_scoach Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 RS - Let me get this straight....no one would see or post the pics? Really? Yes that is an assumption, but most guys do like to show off pics of their catches. Maybe I'm the only one who does that. And as for your comment on snickerdoodle guy.....I have seen first hand the crappie pressure increase and numbers decrease since he started posting those.......notice he doesn't have any for this winter? Wonder Why?????????? Now, I do think you and I see eye to eye on the boathouse, but that's the nature of a lake right in the city. It's gonna happen. And I do think a CPR tournament would be a great fun idea. I just don't like more and more people fishing where it's already a bumper car situation. It doesn't really matter me much one way or the other. I was just trying to clarify what someone in an earlier post said and offer my two cents. It's not important enough for me to argue about. It's a forum for sharing opinions and I appreciate the opportunity to do that. Good luck this spring to all
gurzik Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 I would be interested in a cpr tourney. Should be home for about a month. Let me know
John Andrews Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Not for me. I enjoy my no pressure days. I would rather not see a tourney there, but it's a public lake. To each their own i guess.

Lvn2Fish Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Man people are so scared. Just for you I am going to post every fish I catch from springfield lake! Get a life! I try not to get mixed up with these Internet arguements, but you have to be kidding me. If your a true promoter of the outdoors, than you would welcome people to fish the lake. Instead your greedy. Plain and simple. If a photo of a fish brings more people into fishing, than we should welcome that. Fishing is a great hobbie and a real passion for me. When growing up others were out drinking and partying. I was preparing for my next tournament. Have never been in any kind of trouble. Have never been addicted to anything. Besides catching more fish . That is all because of my love for the water and fishing. Shame on you .... BTW I bought a new kayak late last a nice pescador perception sport. I would love to take part in a friendly CPR tournament.

Members soxpac Posted March 11, 2014 Author Members Posted March 11, 2014 It's a small group of guys who will all know each other fishing (as we would most likely be there anyway) for bragging rights. If you want added to the "PRIVATE" Facebook group, message me and I'll add you. The TV show starts next year anyways... Pssssshhh The gods do not deduct from man's allotted span the hours spent in fishing. ~Babylonian Proverb
