Ham Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 The reels seem to fit tight enough, but over time the screw on locking ring eases backwards and the reel gets loose. It is very obvious when you're setting the hook or reeling the fish in. fisninwrench had it right. Bill's idea might still work though. I Knew you guys would have good ideas. I'm gonna try some of them head to head IF I get to go Thursday. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Mitch f Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Yea, the nut backing out might be helped by a combination of both Bill's and Mopanfishers great ideas. The reel seat will have back pressure from using the moleskin and the threads will stay tighter by the Teflon tape! "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Bushbeater Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Instead of Elec. tape or BPS Rod Handle tape try bicycle handlebar tape. I like the adhesive backed fabric tape.
Ham Posted January 31, 2014 Author Posted January 31, 2014 I made a trip today. I wrapped the worriisome reel seats with Teflon tape and it helped, but I 'm going to strip it off and try to do a little better job with it. I may still put a glob of silicone sealant behind the locking nut or some form of tape over and behind it to try to put it to bed forever. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. Terrierman Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I'd just drill it and shoot a small screw in it if it bugged me that bad. That will stop it from moving from now until you take the screw out.
