Anybody have a few they would like to sell? Would rather buy then from a forum member than someone else on eBay.

Alex,

The absolute BEST place to buy new and used tackle in on the Swap and Sell forum on Bassboatcentral.com It has a TON of members and guys looking to get rid of gear, reels, rods, tackle, electronics, trade, etc. There is ALWAYS a lot of Pre-Rap Warts for sale on the boards there. Other than that Ebay is the other place to go but you can get into some bidding wars there and they are going for some ridiculous prices now. Had I bought a shipping container of phatom green/brown craws or the SP90 "Missouri" Craws in the mid -90s I would be able to retire already as they are worth more than Berkshire Hathaway stock apparently.

When did rapala buy storm? I have a tackle box full of warts that were my grandfathers before he died (I very rarely throw a wart). I assume they are from the 90s or earlier. I may post them on here or on ebay if in fact they are pre-rapala warts. Not sure how to tell them apart....ill ask the google gods and find out.

I am willing to bet that they are all pre-rapala warts if they are in the time frame you state. Rapala bought out Storm late 90's or early 2000ish. The older very sought after pre-rapala models will have "wiggle wart" printed on the underside of the bill/lip of the bait. The new ones will have "STORM" with the logo printed on the underside of the bill. That is how you distinguish between the two aside from some of the paint schemes.

Mjk86, if you do have some and would like to sell, please post them. I have been looking around for some and would gladly take them.

Ya I want to double check to see if they are in face pre rapala. Like I said im not sure, they just seem old. Most are in pretty decent shape though, would probably wanna swap out hooks as they are probably 20yrs old or better lol. If they are, i would part with some or all, Ill let you know tomorrow.

Better have deep pockets if you go the ebay route. Just checked my watch list and saw a pair of V37's in boxes close at $247 and change. Might also wait until summer, prices are highest on them January-April.

It's a hard choice, sell them and pay for a couple of weeks at the lake, or keep them and throw them.

I haven't bought any off Ebay in about 2 years. I used to be able to find some decent deals on just random fishing lots guys were selling that were their dads, grandpas and uncles that they didn't really know what they had. Just sold as is in a group of lures. I found a lot of gems this way. Now you just can't do that as in the last 2 years people are just all over these wiggle warts like the proverbial stink on crap. Nearly impossible to get a good deal on them now via Fleabay. But if you have the dough then they are readily available for purchase on Ebay.

Those are where the deals still are. People who just want an old box full of baits gone and are not concerned about the contents.
