dtrs5kprs Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 The Spro Little John MD is an interesting little crank, I have a watermelon red one that I threw this fall for a bit. Caught a couple of bass on it on a windy chunk rock bank. Looking forward to giving it more a workout once the weather warms. So July, basically.
Quillback Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 it's beginning to look that way. Once upon a time I remember when I was fishing in shorts and a t-shirt and was still sweating like crazy.

MeatintheFreezer Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Balsabee, Loosely figured, that is $1000 worth of warts based on what they are going for on ebay. I saw 5 unopened ones last week go for $152, used are between $10-$15. Not saying you should sell them, just saying that people are chomping at the bit for them now. Remember - If at first you DO succeed, try not to act surprised & quit while you're ahead.

Believe it or not I honestly wouldn't sell them if someone offered me 10 times that amount. My wife would sell them for what she knows I gave for them which is $1- $2 each. I absolutely love old tackle including the old Bagley brass lures. Here's the warts I keep in the boat. The others I posted are what I keep on the shelf.
balsabee Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Everyone gets all hyped up about the wiggle warts now because of the price more than anything but I tell you what the old Rebel maxi, mini, and wee r's have at times out fished the wart especially when the water is colder. Super r is a great old bait as well.

I also see a SP-90 in there.....might want to hold onto that and not take the chance of losing it in a cedar top. In 5 years that thing could be worth hundreds of dollars. The way warts are trending the last 2 years I wouldn't doubt it.

Alex Heitman Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 I have heard that about the bomber flat A's. I watched a good video on it on wired2fish. I found some flat warts the other day in my dads box, do they compare to the flat A? Or should I look into buying the flat A. I have a hard time slowing down anymore than normal winter fishing but with the cold winter we have it looks like the water will stay cool for a while. At least with a flat A you can feel somewhat faster pace rather than a slow technique such as jerkbait or jig.
