ollie Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Love mine. Wish they would give stock options to those of us who have owned one from the start. From what I have read and seen about the company it is run pretty well. That being said it isn't a guarantee that the stock will take off. Guest Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I'm going to flip it after it goes up. It's not something that I want a long position. Square is a good one too. Year of the IPO.
ness Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 You're going to flip it WHEN it goes up? I see -- you're going to outsmart Goldman, Morgan Stanley, Merrill, Citi, JPM and all those guys, huh? They're gonna let you have some....what, because they've got enough already? I don't know if it's a good deal or not. What I do know is Gopro is selling, and companies usually sell when it's advantageous to THEM (which is the opposite of YOU). You may make a killing, but it's by no means a sure thing. That's just the way it works. John
Blazerman Posted June 26, 2014 Author Posted June 26, 2014 The IPO was today and it is trading at 31,60 right now which is up 31% from the opening price. 40 million shares traded so far. The CEO rang the opening bell at the Nasdaq exchange and CNBC was all over it. It will be interesting to see where it goes from here.
ness Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Just looked over the company for the first time. They're solid -- earnings, revenue growth, free cashflow, balance sheet all look really good. Will the price keep going up? Heck if I know. 44 times earnings is pretty rich. John
ness Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I wonder if they have some technical advantage that sets them apart? I don't know anything about them, but if Apple and others can put a video camera in a phone, it seems like the technology is pretty mature. Apple's sitting on a zillion dollars in cash. I suspect if they wanted to make a run at little video cameras they could/wouold. John
Quillback Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Yeah good point, you'd think Apple would take a look at it. They were saying yesterday that the CEO of Gopro is now an instant billionaire.
Blazerman Posted June 27, 2014 Author Posted June 27, 2014 Blasting higher again today. Up over $7 and half bucks so far to 38.65 and heading higher quickly. Like usual wish i would of bought some yesterday which i was thinking about doing. Now it is hard to get in with it running like it is.
Big Brown Trout Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 how do you kill a company? go public. Let the summer of Carp, begin.
