LittleRedFisherman Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I'm thinking and hoping, people will realize this is fiction.. I've just now got my wife relaltives that live up north to believe that we do wear shoes in AR....lol http://www.hitfix.com/starr-raving/exclusive-clip-clash-of-the-ozarks-has-true-blood-grit There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Quillback Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I used to work for a company based in California, and I spent a lot of time there working. That trailer is pretty much in a nutshell what folks from both the coasts think is typical southern living.
Feathers and Fins Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Quill, and people from around the country think all Californians do is surf, party and say DUDE all the time lol. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Mitch f Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Oh yeah, Old Crowbar is at it again! Not only does he catch huge smallmouth but he's involved in a feud! "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Smalliebigs Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Oh yeah, Old Crowbar is at it again! Not only does he catch huge smallmouth but he's involved in a feud! Wow isn't this the clown who keeps nice smallies and guides using live bait? Crowbar looks like his family tree doesn't have many branches.....that show looks like it will do wonders for the perception of Arkansas. I would embarrassed and pissed if I was an Arkansas resident..... that looks like a joke.

In Crowbar's defense at least most of the time he does use small jigs to catch those big smallmouth. Then they head to the frying pan. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Old plug Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Same artitude works both ways and all this kind of crap just causes more division. I have attitude. I do not like yuppies.
LittleRedFisherman Posted February 16, 2014 Author Posted February 16, 2014 Arkansas gets stereo typed, and always will, some will believe this is the way it is, most with any kind of brain cells will know this is scripted for entertainment. I used to be more defensive about the views of our state, but I love living here, and don't need any reassurance from somebody not in the know to make it better. I'll watch the show just to see where it goes, it's bound to be entertaining.. The Evans guy has developed a disposable toothbrush, "that's right", and he airs his commercials about it on Crowbars outdoor show, so figure they really get along just fine....lol I know of some of these people in the clip, I think most if not all are actual residents of the area acting in this. The preacher is Tommy Garner, who has a local radio outdoor show in Mammoth Spring, that little clip there is kinda impressive on his acting skills. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!

Sorry if I offended you in my generalizations of these people dipicted in your clip if they are your friends or something?? I had no idea that those type of shows were scripted....I guess they are far from reality shows??? I can assure you that I have a college degree and have a ton of education in the great outdoors, especially fishing and survival skills. I just don't watch much tv outside of sports and news. I do appologize Bret if I offended you....it's just the cast of characters in that show were made to look a little like they fell out of the stupid tree and hit every branch on the way down IMO.......I would be pissed if a director had me looking like that.
Old plug Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 To me it does not matter if its scripted are what. the final product just reflects on the people of Arkansas in a negative manner.
