Old plug Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 The temp just a little bit ago got to freezing. And there is none of the part sun we were suppose to get. theres not many people around who have seen worse ice than this.was something in the paper last week that it is now all the way to the dam. they said that has never happened before. what i would like is a good report on how thick. thus stuff has gotten. We might be froze in down here for another week and a half.
crittermo Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 i'm not sure how accurate it is but recently i was reading my "lake alert" email and it said that some parts of the lake were 6-8 inches thick, pretty amazing, i've been going down there for 45 years and don't recall ever having that much ice
fishinwrench Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Supposedly it was as bad (or worse) in the early 80's but luckily I was living in Ga. at the time.
Old plug Posted February 16, 2014 Author Posted February 16, 2014 i am wondering what is going on under e ice.
Jerry Rapp Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Crock O Gator facebook page has a photo of a chunk of ice cut out at the 3mm. It is 8 inches thick.
Old plug Posted February 16, 2014 Author Posted February 16, 2014 I bet when this does go there if we get some sunny weather there is going to be and explosion of shallow fish. I have learned over past two years I do not need to be on mear the bank to catch shallow fish in early spring.
WHARFRAT Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 No ice at the 13mm of big niangua. But a half mile up from me it's locked solid. @lozcrappie
WHARFRAT Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 It is about as low as I've ever seen it. @lozcrappie
Old plug Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 my neighbor tells me there was something on the radio that it was going down 2 more ft. I. have bot been able to find out anything . I have seen it down that far one time. The river and the ricer and spring will keep the very end of the your area open.
fishinwrench Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I think it's safe to say that we'll see 652.? before any significant rainfall. Truman doesn't have much to give us.
