I'd ask Grizzly. Would think one of the bench tops is enough for casual use. Seems like when I asked him about it, Tim was using a stand up cabinet, but that has been many years back.

Mitch, great work. Here is a couple of questions. From what I understand the Wiggle Wart has had 3 phases in its existence. The first was the Storm Wiggle Wart that I am having a very hard time finding when the first one was first made. Most are thinking is was 1976 The molds were then sold to Brad and that is another phase of the wart the final phase is the Rapala wart. Was the wart you tested the Origional or the Brad against the Rapala wart? Or am I confused. I have some that were made in I believe 1978. The internet classifies the Origional as before Brad, and the Brad warts to be vintage.

I was bidding on a color pattern yesterday on ebay and that particular wart was a 1982 model. I quit bidding at $65.00.

Now, I'm confused.

Brad had the mold before Rapala?

That begs the question, what label did brad have under the bill?

Maybe the brad should be added to this equation.

$65 is crazy, only on EBay!

Sounds like someone has a new pet?

Bass Fishing Archives did a story on the wart, albeit brief. It showed the "first" ad for the wiggle wart from 1976. Not sure if it was made before that date.

I thought Brad's was a totally separate entity. Dave Storm still has a bait company, Dave's Ka-Boom, but does not make the wart. The label change was supposedly just a label change, with no change to the bait. Sometime in the 80's they moved production to Mexico (still have some of those boxes), but used the same molds.

Bill, I really don't know much about the history of the warts. I would assume the "whitest" plastic with the recessed cup at the line tie is the oldest. This is the "Kraken" one I referred to in the test. The others (which were the first comparisons) were, I'm guessing, the later model Warts before they became Rapalas

My oldest warts have Wiggle Wart printed under the bill. I don't know when they were made. The others have Storm printed under the bill and they all catch fish.....

I'm pretty sure the warts made by brad have Brad's written under the bill along the rib.

Yes. Believe "Brad" also made the Wart Hog (not the newer Luck E Strike bait) that appeared shortly after the wiggle wart change. Package and label are/were the same as the Brad's, and the colors as well. Would have to look at one of those to see what is on the bill, but they are buried in my packing pile.
