From MDoC 2012 report;

post-14990-0-45307300-1393370338.jpg

Couple of obvious trends, the ratio of resident to nonresident is steadily shifting in one direction, and significant increases in nonresident permit costs accompany an increase in nonresident usage. I don't think that points to a cause and effect scenario, rather just that it isn't enough to discourage any nonresidents.

Interesting that while NR permit numbers showed a modest increase from 8 to 13%, NR permit revenue jumped from 12 to 35%.

Looks like Missourians are taking the most advantage of the MO/AR Border Lakes permits at 95 to 5. That's saved me a lot of $ for sure.

I can't dance like I used to.

That's interesting that so few AR residents buy the WR license. It's a good deal for me as I fish the MO side of TR quite a bit.

Additionally I see in the paper that there is thought towards making it illegal to burn firewood to heat your home. Pollution of course. I guess we don't need to worry about the tons ( literally) of Diesel in our atmosphere........since it brings in tax revenue.

I did a bit of research the other day on this. Do you know that between 5-10 million acres burn from wildfires in a given year. With one tree per 3 square feet ( really low estimate). that is almost 34 billion trees burned in wildfires. The epa states that 9 million out ouf date wood stoves are in use in the United States. If a person burns 10 cords of wood to heat thier home( really high estimate) I figured 2 good sized trees per cord. If you compare the number of trees burned in a given year from wildfire and the number of trees used to heat a home its like 5%. This isnt going to do jack for the "pollution" caused by people burning wood stoves. When 95% more wood is burned in wildfires. They are not going to make it illegal to burn wood. They are going to regulate what you burn your wood in. I.E a "high effcient" wood stove. Im sure these new age wood stoves will be rather pricey. Forgive me if my figures are wrong, I'm no math wiz by anymeans. I found this ratio to be rather commical.

Bfshn,

Those are great figures you have presented. However, I still would like to see a complete list of every single person that draws a salary or wages from the Missouri Department of Conservation including all perks and bonuses. I believe we absolutely have a right to know what the money we so graciously gave to them through the Amendment of our State Constitution is being spent for in this area. I might clarify that when I say perks I mean to include any vehicles that are driven home by Missouri Department of Conservation Staff, Wage Earners, Salaried people, Advisors, or any other person(s) that are given this usage. In short I believe that if we pay for something we at least have the right to know what we paid for. And if someone can furnish this information please start at the top in the amount of earnings and list them in descending order with the persons title, responsibilities, duties, and number of hours worked per week for a calendar year.

Don't get me wrong. I am not picking on the Department of Conservation in Missouri. I think these things should be easily accessible for all persons concerning all Conservation Departments in all States.

Just Curious,

Luvn2 fish,

So I guess this means burning off wheat fields, Camp Fires, Burning your trash, doing burn outs with your Camaro, smoking Cigarettes/Cigars/Pipes ( or now days Marijuana in States where it is legal), or anything else that produces smoke should also fall under the "Watchfull and Caring Eye" of whatever agency deems it necessary. Come on guys!!!!! This is exactly what I am talking about. Legislative empowered people forcing us to do ridiculous things. Someone has to get it across to them that we are STRUGGLING AND CANNOT AFFORD WHATEVER FLIES THROUGH THEIR MINDS.

Sorry, I am against the stove thing all the way around. It would completely eliminate all Fireplaces that were not installed with High Tech equipment in recent times.

If you took the total amount of pollution from burning anything. The percentage of pollution coming from woodstoves probably wouldn't even be measurable. I think the whole thing stinks to high $%@*, I read somewhere the EPA said it would save the average person $100-$200 a year in hospital bills. What a joke....

As awhunter previously pointed out to you in another thread, the info you seek is readily available;

http://sos.mo.gov/BlueBook/2013-2014/10_Personnel.pdf#conservation

See pages 53-65 for MDoC employees. Sorry, but it's in alphabetical order. The data is comma delimited though, so you should be able to easily import it to a spreadsheet and sort it any way you want. If you want I can do that for you for the price of a rick of seasoned firewood (oops, better make it a cord since I live in AR).

Alternatively, you can go to the Missouri Accountability Portal (MAP);

http://mapyourtaxes.mo.gov/MAP/Employees/

Select 'search by agency', then 'conservation'. You then have the option to sort the list by salary instead of name. You can also view expenditures on vehicles etc on the same site.

That's just for Missouri, but I'm sure you can find similar sites for other states if you really wanted to.

Enjoy!

I can't dance like I used to.

Bfshn,

Obviously you are way smarter than I am with a computer. I will try to follow your instructions and advice.
