duckydoty Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Or at least one bucket full anyway. I've been fishing Flat Creek for a couple of weeks now and been doing pretty good. Today was one of the better days for me. Started out early and was the first boat out there. Found a school of them and had 8 keepers in the boat by 10 with several shorts, 6 or 7 whites and 3 bass released. The cloud cover came in and everything shut off for about 4 hours. Around 3 this afternoon the bite picked back up and I put 6 more keepers in the live well and released several more crappie and another 5 short bass. I also caught several nice sized gills today. Some of the crappie were real pigs pushing the 15 inch range. All of the fish were caught on Bobby Garland jigs that were all black or had some kind of black in them with 1/16th oz. jig heads. All of the fish were caught in exactly 13 feet of water. The only bites I got today came out of 13 feet of water and that is it. Yesterday it was 16 feet of water and last week it was 7-10. If you find a couple at a certain depth, keep concentrating on that same depth, even in different locations. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. vonreed Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 That is totally awesome. I was down there today and was wondering how the crappie bite was going. I seen a few boats on the water. But I wasn't fishing and drooling to do some. I'm wishing the storm doesn't show up and the fish stay on pattern, lol. Thanks for the report.
