Very nice work. Always great to catch something on anything you make at home. Did you buy a wire bender and wrapper? That is a lot of work and very hard on hands without a machine.

Said a mouthful there. When A-Rigs first came out and were going for $20-100 a piece I decided to make my own from some materials from Barlow's Tackle. Ended up costing me about $5 per rig finished.....I bent everything by hand and with round nose pliers and other tools.....never again. Without a wire form/bender its rough on the hands and fingers for SURE.

BalsaBee....you have any better results throwing the double monster rig as opposed to the single standard rig?

Thanks Bill, I appreciate that! Everything is done by hand with a pair of flat and round nose pliers. The head is poured with polyester resin, painted and sealed with epoxy. I've been contemplating using chrome on the head and tying a mouse colored skirt behind the head and using a brass/chrome willow like a War Eagle spinnerbait.

I just made it up a few days ago after reading about several tournaments being won out east on the Blades of Glory. Thought I would give it a try!

Hahaha This could get out of hand very quickly.....you should string 4 or 5 of those dogs together....could probably set a record of some sort. Then on the very back tie on a 9in swimbait or something. I guess it doesnt matter as long as only 3 hooks right?

FYI balsa bee that thing looks darn awesome!! Id like to try and cast it just to do it.

Thanks! I just copied it because I really liked the looks of it. What I like about it is it's one wire connecting the two rigs together and not a snap and swivel that will hinge and cause it to get tangled up on itself. I think it should cast just as well as a standard 5 wire rig.

That's right. The problem I've been having is with sloooow rolling the a-rig right on the bottom my three with hooks are riding right on the bottom and I've been missing fish that I think are hitting the other two without hooks. I think the fish are just up off the bottom and slightly looking down on the rig when this happens. I haven't figured out how to correct this because to get the rig to run right all three with hooks will rotate down. I may start using small willow blades on the top two instead of the zoom swimmin flukes and maybe shorten those arms or just cut them off all together.

You could try putting weights on the bottom baits without hooks (aka. jika rig) so it will run with the hooked rigs on the top wires.

If my idea works; you owe me one of those rigs. LOL

That's what I'm talking about!!! That will work! At least for a few weeks until they start suspending. That would be good to do on all the baits with no hooks to keep them from spinning through the water and not getting the full action of the paddle tail. I thought about taking those swivels off and just attaching those with hitchhikers directly to the bend in the wire to keep them from spinning through the water.

LOL....I could fix you up. This is why I really like posting some of the baits I make on here. Getting a different perspective can make a huge difference.
