Also us older folks can purchase an Golden Age Passport which allows for to purchase the yearly pass for 1/2 price $15.00 per year. This includes 1/2 off on camp sites and the Golden Age Passport gets you in all of the national parks for a reduced cost of 50% I think and the Golden Age Passport costs a one time fee of $10.00 for your lifetime which is a real bargain.

How old do you need to be to get the Golden pass?

I guess I am a little behind times it is now known by the name of a Senior Pass and 62 is the magic age and it still cost $10.00 lifetime and is available at the camp grounds booths or the Dewey Short Hq at the Table Rock dam. They changed the name of the pass in 2008. I copied this from the Internet site Golden Age Passport.

Proof of age (must be 62 years or older).

Ten Dollars cash (the one-time processing fee as of January 1, 2008).

Twenty Dollars by mail from the US Geological Survey (extra $10 is for postage and handling) (I would not take this option)

"This is a lifetime pass for U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62 or over. Valid at Federal recreation entrance or standard amenity fee sites for: pass holder and occupants of single, private, non-commercial vehicle OR one motorcycle; OR pass holder and three persons (16 and older) where per person fees are charged. The pass can only be obtained in person at the park. The Senior Pass provides a 50 percent discount on some Expanded Amenity Fees charged for facilities and services such as camping, swimming, boat launch, and specialized interpretive services. In some cases where Expanded Amenity Fees are charged, only the pass holder will be given the 50 percent price reduction. The pass is non-transferable and generally does NOT cover or reduce special recreation permit fees or fees charged by concessionaires."

It's definitively a Corp facility and day use fees are required. There is one way around the day use fee IF you tell the attendants are only going to Koppies restaurant. All the Docks are considered commercial.

You're talking about the Cape Fair corp camp grounds and marina is a fee area. The Flat Creek Resort is not Corp area, access to that ramp and parking in on The Flat Creek Resort property the ramp would be on Corp land. So there would not be a Corp fee required to use the ramp but parking would be up to the resort as I understand it.

As far the Koppies restaurant work around yes to the restaurant only. If you are captured at the boat ramps launching or parking at the ramps you had better have a yearly or daily pass or you will get a ticket and either have to buy a pass or go to court and take you chances. There is no boat trailer parking at the marina parking area.... Bottom line just pay the fee and you will not have a problem..... :have-a-nice-day:

I'm convinced that some people literally shorten their lives trying to find ways around paying fees. Personally, I'm not going to waste precious time or energy worrying about whether I can get out of paying a launch fee on a Corps lake! Donna and I go buy our $30 Corps pass when it comes due (it's good for a year from date of purchase, not calendar year) and then we can legally launch on any Corps lake anywhere in the country. And we can spend our brain cells worrying about where to catch a fish, not where to launch.

Doesn't matter if you're a weekend perch jerker or an Elite Series tournament pro, if $30 a year is gonna break your bank account, you need to find a new pastime.
