Pepe Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 It was a GREAT feeling to be on the lake today, plenty of sunshine, very little wind and enough bites to keep things fun and interesting. We even managed to catch a picture of the ghost of Old Man Winter as he was leaving
balsabee Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I'm going to punch the first person I hear complain about it being too hot this summer!

*T* Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Great shot! Should be shared elsewhere. Classic! "Water is the driving force of all Nature."Â -Leonardo da Vinci
96 CHAMP Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 If i didn't live so darn far from the lake i would head out, just buying time, got one more reel coming in in the next couple days, cleaning a couple reels tonight and tomorrow, put new line on, new charger, motor been checked out, upgraded 3 reels, 2 rods, one which champ 188 gave some input on, thanks for that champ, made the decision to go with the ducket and paired it up with a lews,it will be a awesome set up. last year went down in early march on a cruddy rainy 3 day stretch and had a blast, good fishin to you guys!! thanks for the tips and advice,
powerdive Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 That is just flat-out cool. And of course, it's great to know that you-know-who has finally left the building! Thanks.
Champ188 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 You're gonna love that Duckett/Lew's set-up, 96 CHAMP. I threw a jerk bait a big part of the day Saturday on a 6-6 Med/Fast with a Lew's TS1H and just marveled at how light it is and how well it throws even into the wind. It's not a new set-up at all ... about a year old ... but it still amazes me at how perfect it is for jerk baits. For the record, I use 8-pound P-Line mono on my jerk bait rigs.
96 CHAMP Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I ordered a lews bb1 pro series for that rod, thought i might want some extra line capacity at times when throwing a spinner bait, should get it in a day or two and i am sure it will be a very nice set up I bought a lews tournamant pro speed spool for my falcon mcclelland series for my jerkbait, went out back yesterday with it and that is a awesome set-up, upgraded with the lews this year appears to be a excellant reel, as far as when, i prefer to wait if possible for a weather change and some not so blue bird days, good fishin to ya and thanks a ton!!!
