Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 10, 2014 Root Admin Posted March 10, 2014 I'm a little surprised at the lack of fishing reports on the forum today. It was a perfect weekend to get out and fish and I've heard the lakes, rivers were pretty full of anglers. So where are the reports? Good, bad... doesn't matter. BTW - don't post them here- start new topics under the appropriate forums.
J-Doc Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 I think it's fisherman's pride. They all got skunked pretty good. :-) I did hear a buddy caught over 30fish at SWEPCO. He doesn't post reports though. That's the best info I heard this weekend. I didn't go myself or I would post a report. I was modifying the boat for downriggers and grilling tasty striper. I did post the recipe to share. :-) Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 10, 2014 Author Root Admin Posted March 10, 2014 Yes I reposted your recipe post on the main OA page!! That was great! I guess I'm hoping that we get some new people posting reports. We've had a lot of ppl register the last couple of weeks plus all the others that read but seldom post. I also reposted Clay's report. As a rule, I repost good reports with images. The images add a lot. I'm not asking for reports so that I can repost them... just would like to see some new blood on the forum posting. We had 13,762 unique visitors the last 2 weeks, we should see more posts I'd think.
J-Doc Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Too many lurkers, not enough contributors. I agree. That's a lot of new members. We "share" information to help others but we all need to share from time to time. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! Blazerman Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Actually I think it is more likely guys are tired of being abused about everything they report when they do report. A nice report about a guy having a great time fishing for bass with his dad turns into a debate about fishing in pay lakes and put and take fishing. Somebody else posts about smallmouth fishing on the Gasconade and it turns into a rant about gigging. (Not that I am for gigging gamefish. Don’t want to rile anybody up). Seems like you can’t post where you caught your fish, what you were using, or anything related to your outing without one of the regulars going off about it. Hardly worth posting knowing someone will come back with something negative. Yeah I know it’s a public forum so you have to expect some abuse. Well actually you don’t. You can just not post anything or go somewhere else to do it.

aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 So true. God forbid you keep a fish and post about it. Haha
J-Doc Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 Oh I can understand that. I know a few who will never be happy. Lol!! Don't let them bother you though. Post and have fun. If your thread starts getting hi-jacked, moderators can and should step in. There has been a lot of off topic rants lately. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. I do admit though it gives me great chuckles as typically its the guys who cant or are not catching fish raising the stink. Others PM me honestly wanting to learn more and to me that is what its all about to me ( helping others ) and ignoring the others but i see your point and bet to a degree it is the truth. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
