Maybe, but according to my math a 100 lbs over 4 days is a 25 lb per day average. I do think we will see at least 1 bag that goes 25 lbs. Should be fun to watch.

Warm rain with warm nights should be a good thing for the shallow guys. We should have the fish that are normally early coming up with the more usual April move.

Might be surprised, but this lake is pretty fickle to kick out 25# per day, even for these sticks. Bill's guess is likely to be close.

Have been on the water every wkend for 6 wks and the bite has got better every day, worst day has been 13 kps and around 16 lbs. Have had at least 1 6lbr every trip and Sunday the brownies came out.

Your a heck of a stick ! Worst day 13 keeps? Wish I knew someone that had done as well the last 6 weekends, every weekend. I aint biting on your story. Its been way too tough this last month, but then again I suck at catching them. Sorry but thats the way I feel.

I fished the cape fair tournament on sunday and finished 6th with 13+ lbs. I promise you that none of those big sacks came from the river. We ran back towards aunts creek to fish the clear water with a rig and wasn't the only people that went that far back towards the dam. I also fished a charity tournament on saturday out of Baxter. I started around the mouth of big creek on some of the bluff ends and had 4 limits by 9 am on the rig. For some reason the fish just seemed to turn on this weekend. I got tired of throwing the rig and went shallow in the same area throwing a wart. culled out all my rig fish and caught probably 15-20 fish, 8-10 were keepers. weighed in 5 for about 15 lbs and wasn't even close. there was an 18 lb, 24 lb and 28 lb bag weighed in. I'm just glad the rig is about over

I believe the same gentlemen won both Saturday and Sunday. That is at least what Bill thought. I know Busby has been catching them since January so he is not an unusual participant.

smbasser, 30 keeps during a derby is one great day. It is more like a winter time spoon bite. Congrats on the special day.

Good lord, I suck. Anyone wanna buy a nice Ranger? Comes with a couple dozen rods-and-reels and a crapload of other gear. Last count, I had five boxes of stickbaits that I obviously don't know how to use.

PM if interested. I'm gonna slink away now and go practice my golf swing.

Where did I put that "Like" button....

I really enjoy your posts - but some even more than others!!!!

Easy there Buddy, never meant a word of disrespect. I was just using you as a gauge. If they are weighing in 4 fish limits of 20pounds and you are catching them like that, it may be the deal. You add a 5th. fish and that is 25 per day on the Cape Fair deal.

I could care less what you drive and who you root for. I'm durn impressed with your results. I for sure cannot catch a 6 Pounder every trip, but wish I could. What ever your doin, keep it up and God Speed.

Sounds to me like you have another axe to grind with me. Sorry you don't like what I do here. I for one appreciate the information you have provided and look forward to the derby, thinking you have a pretty good bead on what is commin. Good Luck
