Jerry Rapp Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 a friend just sent me a text that the guy he fished with today at Bismark Lake (DeSalvo I think MDC calls it now) caught one that weighed 14-7 on his boga scale. They are headed into to Bismark to find a certified scale. I looked up the MDC number to try to find a number to call so they can send someone to verify. Can't find a good number? Help.
Jerry Rapp Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 it was 65 today with t-storms in the afternoon. Perfect conditions for a big one. Bismark produced the only bass I ever got mounted. 8 plus pounders are caught most every spring.
bfishn Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Call 867-5309. Ask for Jenny. I can't dance like I used to.

Al Agnew Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 The fish and the weather forecast played an April fools joke on me today. Hey, it was supposed to be upper 60s and mostly sunny, with only a slight chance of rain. Well, about the time I got 10 miles up the Meramec, a thunderstorm suddenly moved in and I got deluged. And it never seemed to get out of the 50s. And I forgot my rain pants, so I was soaked from the waist down, with no chance of drying out. Hypothermia was a possibility. I ran 10 miles back down to the car. Oh well, the fish weren't doing anything, anyway...I'd already fished 5 hours with only 8 fish to show for it, the biggest only 16 inches and the rest considerably smaller. The river was way too clear, and too low, too...I plowed a furrow in one barely submerged bar.

Well, I guess Dave Murray got the last laugh "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Jerry Rapp Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 it was weird today. Played golf. From 10 am to 1 pm it was nice. Windy at first, and by 1 pm it was shirt sleeve weather, and no wind. By 1:30 it was storming and we quit when the lightning started. By 2 pm the greens were covered by pea size hail. Spring, you gotta luv it. And Al, been there and done that many times, as most of the others here. I am guessing by next week the creeks/river will be flowing very full.
