Good ol' Johnny. Always going the extra mile to promote the sport of fishing.

according to the guy at hickory hollow which is a resort with a "private" boat ramp that he has been charging the public a 3 dollar fee for years to launch. when we pulled up for the first time there this spring and saw the signs covered with no tresspassing signs we had to go ask if we could launch. he claimed that the water patrol or corp. or somebody had been harrassing him and said that he cannot charge any longer. i would assume because the state wasn't getting their fair share of the proceeds. none the less he is now accepting a donation and everyone is a guest of the resort.

Riverfish my understanding is that the corp is clamping down on private ramps because they end up on public land. I don't know what the story is with Long Creek? The marina rented Tracker Boats and had some sort of demo program in past years.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

We are told here in Emerald Beach that we can't restrict anybody from using our two ramps and parking as they are on Crop property. It's our understanding you must allow public access.

i am with bud on this one. how is that ramps such as the ones at emerald beach have to be open to the public, but viney, long creek and others can be blocked or charge to use now. me personally think we as group need to take the corp to task on this one. i think we just need to keep using those ramps, not pay, and see where the chips fall. we, the people still OWN the government and this country. just my opinion, but at some point there has to be a line drawn in the sand and stand up for ourselves. we also need to fire a whole bunch of people.

Definitely fails any test of logic. One more example of the government doing two things at once, and failing at both.

Yes, this is very hard to understand. At our meeting at viney we were told that all ramps going into Table Rock were at the discression of the corps of engineers and were all available to the public. This is very confusing and I am going to get to the bottom of this. Pretty soon there is going to be no access to Table Rock at all.

Am I to understand that the park at Long Creek is not closed and that it is under private ownership of Johnny Morris? How in the He$$ does a private individual take ownership of a Federal Park?

I want to see where this went out on bids and who is responsible for this.
