Bigmo Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I started a little after 4 and finished after 6. I caught a few over 30 with 6 keepers. Nothing bigger than 2 1/2 lbs. but it seemed like every other cast i had one or they got off. I threw a tomato craw norman crank and caught a few and then lost it when the line broke on the cast. After looking for 10 minutes with no luck, i switched to a reddish orange wart and caught 5 or 6. I then threw a norman bumblebee color and caught about the same amount. The next 4 lures were a chartruese fat free shad, a orange and yellow walleye diver, red rattle spot and finally a red deep diver. It didn't matter what i threw and thats why i tied on the wally diver. Water temp was 56 to 57. As soon as my phone and email decide to hook up i'll post pics. I took several pics of fish on every lure. What a day!
Quillback Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Thanks for the report. That's an action packed 2 hour fishing trip! Did you see any of the Elite boys up there?
dtrs5kprs Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Always pays to re-tie. How was the color up there?
fishingaddiction Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 That is the way to spend a couple of hours.....action packed. Thanks for the report, the Kings is heating up. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Bigmo Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 They're were lots of wrapped boats flying by yesterday. Today maybe 5 or 6 that i saw. Water was that perfect green tint with about 2 foot visibility. Still no pics in my email. I even sent them again from my phone.
Bill Babler Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 A fish every 4 minutes it just about as good as it gets, Great afternoon. Sounds like a very nice amount of keeps for 2 hrs. also. We fished 2 wart colors in the same area. Were not nearly so successful, but did have a wonderful day. Thanks for the wonderful report, makes me what to get right back out there. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Bigmo Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 Bill, the keeps were only 15 or 16 inches. I only worked two different banks about 100 yards long. They just kept coming and coming. About the only time I didn't catch one is when I brought a stick or leaf in.
Sac River Jim Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 thnx for a good report and glad you got on em like that.
Bill Babler Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 This crank bait bite usually has such a narrow window. It is enhanced this year with some water color and all crankbait chunkers should take advantage of it. It will fade away as quick as a chocolate chip cookie in a school yard. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Old plug Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 WELLLLLLL MR BABLER. You would think at your ahe you would know enough to check your line frequently unless you were fishing braid and that stuff hides its damage real well.
