dtrs5kprs Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Anyone else think this was shot at Table Rock? Sure looks like the view from Schooner Creek looking toward Point 7 at one point in the clip.
dtrs5kprs Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 And this is the one I had in mind. Have not used it, because I make most of my rigs, and don't worry as much over $2 vs $15. http://www.tackleexperts.com/slongs-bait-gator-arig-retriever-p-126920.html
abkeenan Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 Anyone else think this was shot at Table Rock? Will see if I get a response from the guy who uploaded the video.
abkeenan Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 Probably one of the coolest videos ever....my first thought was....wow...he cant hook up on any of those fish to save his life, then i saw in the comments that he cut all the hooks off except for one. Its really cool to see fish chasing a bait in action. I dont know who mentioned it but its true when 1 fish commits then all bets are off. Often times when I troll, ill stick a 2inch nunguesser (sp?) spoon on a 3 way swivel with a leader thats about twice as long as the crankbait leader. The fish see the crank...start to chase it....then they notice that little spoon right on top of their head, double up quite often cuz that first strike starts the feeding frenzy. At least thats my thought process of why it works. Thanks for posting though...super cool! That is correct. All the baits were dummies except for the middle one.

Sure looks like the view from Schooner Creek looking toward Point 7 at one point in the clip. Here is the information from the BassFan.com site where I first saw the video: "After a poor finish at the Table Rock Lake Bassmaster Elite Series, Chris Zaldain stuck around for a couple days and did some fun fishing and underwater filming. He compiled the below video from footage taken with a Sony ActionCam. He was able to rig the camera similar to a super-sized Carolina rig in order to get the footage of the umbrella rig and how some Table Rock bass attacked it. Pretty cool footage all around." Old plug Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 There is something very valuable to be learned from watching that video. I just wonder what some of you learned.
ColdWaterFshr Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I tell you what I learned. The increasing advantage that technology advances have brought to bear on these poor reservoir game fish is getting ridiculous and wondering where it will be in a few short years if not already hopelessly lost. And why not just fish with a large drag-net? A-rig stands for, well, insert your own word for A.
mjk86 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Yeah....if you look hard i think you can see the bluffs at the tip of point 7, eastern part of the lake. Looks like he is at the eastern point at the mouth of schooner, the one that looks like a thumb. That whole area is awesome.
Members Stocktondonater Posted April 10, 2014 Members Posted April 10, 2014 It looks to me like a lot of times the bass weren't trying to actually eat the fish. A lot of times they were trying to slash and possibly kill or stun them. But, I've been wrong more often than I've been right regarding the tendencies of bass.
