vernon Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 Thanks Champ. I especially appreciate you offering up you and Donna as a reference. Very generous of you. As I mentioned though, we're already booked into the Kimberling Inn and not sure I'm comfortable asking a competing resort for such a favor. Again though, I truly appreciate your offer as well as just being an all round good guy and a great asset to this forum. "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." Champ188 Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Thanks, Vernon. Kind of you to say. There are lots of people here who help make this forum the great resource that it is. Just happy to be among them.
johnboy2bfishin Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 You can store it at grand rental station on n. Hwy 13 just past dd hwy. Costs 20 a month for outside storage if you have a tarp.
vernon Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 What was the price if you don't mind me asking? I know last year they have their permit yet and the year before was the tornado. Prior to that, I think we were paying $7.50 per night. Thanks.Wow. You weren't kidding! Stopped by to ask and they're $30 per nite! That's by far the highest I've ever heard of for a boat slip with zero extras. Can't believe they're gonna get too many takers at that price. Might talk to Mark at table rock bait and tackle for a place to keep it.

Apparently a lot of bass folks have been shopping for new digs because of it. Wish them well, yuppie boaters are pretty seasonal, bass guys fish when it snows.

Lady at the desk (same old crappy attitude) said the new owner was only interested in making money. Well, OK, get that but pricing yourself out of the market is an odd way of going about it. She also said they're putting in three more docks which gets em back to where they were but what's the point if you run off all your business. Just paid $20 a nite at Rock Lane Marina but they have locked gate, security patrols and cameras, running water boat side and a cleaning station. Kimberling got nuthin but electricity. And a crappy attitude as mentioned. New owner needs to pay a bit more attention to customer service if you ask me. "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." gitnby Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Jay Steed is the new owner. He's not off to a good start in his quest to dominate Kimberling City. He has already changed his menu at The Rocks from 'fine dining' (couldn't find anyone that agreed?) to BBQ fare. (because there are not enough BBQ places around?) He has already had some major customer service issues at The Rocks, and now it sounds like the same attitude prevails at Kimberling Inn. Pretty strong rumors about his relationship with former KC mayor, Joe Schrodt. Seems Mr Schrodt pushed pretty hard with the Corps to re-designate the area that is primarily Steed's property as High Density Recreation. At a City meeting, he denied ever promoting that idea until a letter surfaced in which he proposed that exact thing! The Corps did not change it in the new Master Plan. Not surprisingly, Mayor Schrodt did not file for candidacy in last month's election.
