Alex Heitman Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Have been catching them on senoks on variety of colors in 4-8ft. Doesn't seem to matter which bank as long as you can get away from 30 mph wind and get bit soon lol. Also have been catching some jerkbait fish in same areas paralleling beds along bank in about 6ft banging rocks. Fishing has been great last few days. Boated about 50 fish today with about half being keepers. If you aren't getting bit soon move along there is a better place to fish. I have been pulling up to brand new areas I've never fished and been catching them. Will have better report after tomorrow. Ghost table rock shad and Yamamoto red red senko over and out.
Champ188 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Good job, Alex. Glad to hear the jerk bait bite is still working. May have to keep that in mind later this week. It's definitely a good bait in the wind.
Quillback Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Sounds like some great fishing, thanks for the report!
fishingaddiction Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Alex, I suppose your fishing the senko weightless? Texas rigged or wacky? Good catches for you, keep up the good work. Packed up and ready to go the Rock after work today. Will fish Thursday through the weekend in the Kimberling City area of the lake. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.

Jerk baits don't work in April.....everyone knows that.
Sore Thumbs Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Those Pros were telling me they will throw a jerkbait up to 70 degree water temp. I wouldn't even have one in the boat at that temp. Lol. Learn something everyday.

dtrs5kprs Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Good work. Those fish showing up on the senkos places is a good sign. We used to throw rogues all year up north, and even at Truman in the summer. Fished them faster. Very good at times on schoolies.

Learn something everyday. Always keep a few of everything in the boat. Always. Friggin always. Get it? Then you won't be scrounging around for a Fluke like I was a few days ago. April, and I didn't have a Fluke in the boat. And I probably own 300 of them all told.
