Ham Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 My wife upgraed her phone. She had an I phone 4, but she had issues with it and wanted an I5 C. Fair enough. I had to be involved, well OK not my favorite thing to do but so be it. Once we had the new phone, We backed up the I4 to the cloud and then "restored" the I5C from the cloud so that she would have her old contacts. Here's where it goes bad for me. When we "restored" from the cloud, it gave her access to my phone as well as hers so she had my contacts as well as hers. She proceeded to delete them from her phone which deleted them from my phone. I have figured out about 12 contacts that I have lost and some of them I was able by hook and crook to rebuild, but I don't know how many in total were lost and I didn't necessarily have that contact information anywhere else. Soooooooo when you're done laughing at my misfourtune and you think I had your phone number in the past, PLEASE send me your contact information again. cnr Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 That's tough, I am guessing you share an iTunes account with your wife. The correct way is to have an individual iTunes account for each user so you don't get cross-over issues like you just had. I'm still sorting through the problem of a shared iTunes account between my wife, daughter, and myself. I feel your pain!!!
Ham Posted May 6, 2014 Author Posted May 6, 2014 INDEED! It was a shared account because of I tunes that did me in. The crappy part is I really don't want music on my phone anyway. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
ness Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Man, that stinks. I have really become dependent on my electronic contacts and calendar and would be in a world of hurt if I lost them. One more reason to not share accounts I guess. John
Jerry Rapp Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 paper and pen will always work. I used to love my little black book and business contact list....
ness Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 paper and pen will always work. I used to love my little black book and business contact list.... Ah, but they get lost, wet, chewed up.... Calendar and contacts are all electronic now, but I still plan on paper, brainstorm, list, take notes. I tried for a long time to do those things electronically, but I find slowing down and writing it out is more effective for me. I have been dictating some notes when I 'm driving with my secretary Siri though John
Gavin Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I review & store stuff in electronic format mostly, rarely print anything unless its a bollocks, and you need to refer back & forth to more than 3 monitors will hold...Still nothing better than pen & paper to figure stuff out or keep a tally though.
