Lancer09 Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Ham they May have ranked him higher but holes on their team dictated taking someone else. Sam produced on the field, Where it counts. It drives me crazy when guys post good combine numbers and their stock is boosted, Why did they physically not perform better, against inferior competition... and somehow are going to playing the best of the best.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Well I agree with Mitch. If you want to get acceptance for something you know is unpopular among your future peers, don't shove it down their throats. No pun intended. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Ham Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Ham they May have ranked him higher but holes on their team dictated taking someone else. Sounds good in theory so let's go with that. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
BATCAB27 Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 All he wants to do is play some football. That's all he wants. I'm a Sam fan because I'm a Mizzou guy. And I did believe that the statement above was true, until that public display of affection when he was drafted. Every guy in the rams locker room went from "he's just a guy who wants to play and help us win" to "what the hell was that!?" I think he knows he isn't gna make it in the NFL and now thinks he has some sort of mission. Hey, it makes for interesting TV. Lots of guys have won the heisman and not made it in the pros, so winning SEC defensive POY doesn't mean Sam will succeed. The scouts know what they see, and that is that he isn't fast enough, strong enough or big enough to be a high pick. I'd say he'll make the team, play some special teams for a couple of years and be done. I did hear he had the 2nd highest selling rookie jersey after the draft behind Manziel. If nothing else it should be an interesting crowd at the rams games if he makes the team. How long before this thread is deleted?
Quillback Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 You know what they say - "There's no such thing as bad publicity". Sam is getting just as much pub as Manziel, if his football career doesn't work out, he may find work as a "celebrity". It would not surprise me to start seeing him pop up on the talk show circuit.
ness Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Why is it that Mitch can't say he doesn't agree without getting jumped? I think we can all say that was a groundbreaking and controversial moment. I'm kinda glad I missed it live, though I've seen stills of it as I've been reading about things. Honestly, it makes my stomach turn a little. Does that mean I'm a bad guy? Should I have DVR-ed it so I could show it to my nieces and nephews, or for my wife to take to the preschool where she works, to teach the lesson that it's just another way of looking at things? Tolerance works both ways folks. It's possible to be tolerant, disagree and not pass judgement all at the same time. And what's all this got to do with the Mafia? John

You can lose a billion dollar business or have your life ruined for the beliefs you have even though you have accepted the things you are against. I'm against no one. Be what you want, who you want, however you want. As long is it's not being shoved down my throat I don't care. Hell I probably won't even notice. It's supposed to be a free country right? Â Â
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 You are free to speak as you want, as long as it passes muster by the media, small loud minority's and the DOJ. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
ness Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 I accept everybody for who they are, and won't tolerate anyone who isn't the same way. John
Lancer09 Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 My thing about it is this. ESPN probably asked for permission to film him getting the call in the instance he got drafted, like they do with a lot of other prospects at their homes, or there at Music City. How many of those that were straight kissed their significant other? A lot. They even showed a proposal from one of the draft picks that day. Should he not be able to show some affection to his significant other the same?
