Maybe the best news in all of this is that the spawn apparently has been a drawn-out process rather than an all-at-once event. With fewer fish on beds at a given time, fewer anglers (especially tournament types) are apt to go sight fishing for them, meaning they get to spawn without predation from above the water level. That all adds up to more fish for us in the future.

Plus water levels holding steady. Just wish there were a few more bushes for the babies to hide in.

Less water is an overlooked reason for why so many are being caught I think. Couple of extra feet would have spread them out quite a bit.

Agreed. They can stack up more in "spots" this way. That said I'd rather pull them out of the trees.

This has been the best spring numbers wise for is. The fishing had been amazing. Just shows how great of a fishery it is and how many fish are in the lake
