Old plug Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Would you use this drop shot rig??? The hook is a size 04 the weight is 1/2 oz and is located about 16 inches below the hook but it varies. Not shown is a swivel above the hook about 4 inches. The bait is a giant trick worm on this particular one.
Mike jones Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 This is a great rig for flipping shallow bushes when the bass are suspended up in the cover. I believe a Japanese angler did this in a Bassmasters tourneys a few years ago and did well.
Old plug Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 I know that it is good. I carry it with me all summer. When I come upon a situation where I believe it is warranted I use it. I posted it to see what kind of a reaction it would get. A lot of these guys on here would not buy this Imam sure. It is nothing like what theyconsider the prescribed method of drop shotting .
Jerry Rapp Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 put a half ounce jig on as the drop shot weight. You can thank me later.
Old plug Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 That is 1/2 oz Jerry. U figured you would understand this thing.
5bites Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 That is 1/2 oz Jerry. U figured you would understand this thing. It's not a 1/2oz jig though.
Jerry Rapp Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 a 50% of an ounce jig, brownish with a green pumpkin trailer.
Old plug Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 I missed that Jerry sorry. i have never tried that. I would think there would be some attraction there though. I just wonder about getting it through stubble brush and a few other things like rocks. Could become a expensive drop shot weights.
