Members StevePMo Posted June 8, 2014 Members Posted June 8, 2014 I am a bit out of the loop on fishing line. I used to fish Trilene Ultra Thin 8 lb test for smallies, but they haven't made it for years apparently. Any recommendations on a similar type line? I have heard folks like the flourocarbon stuff, but I am wondering if it is limp enough for spinning reels...
Nitroman Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 For an all around line MY #1 CHOICE & RECCOMENDATION is YO-ZURI HYBRID, not the easiest to find but the best of both ( MONO. / FLUOR. ) worlds combined into one sweet line. You can get it @ either www.tackle warehouse.com or www.landbigfish.com BASS PRO SHOPS use to carry it but the last few times I have been in their store ( SPRINGFIELD, MO. ) I have not seen it & I cannot find it on their WEB-SITE. gramps50 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I agree Yozuri is good, spray a little KVD L&L on it and it's real manageable plus its very tough. I also like McCoy. I think Tackle Warehouse sells it too.
moguy1973 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I've tried Yo-Zuri and it's a great line but I find myself liking P-Line CX Premium better. It's a super tough copolymer line like Yo-Zuri but I find it has less memory even without the line conditioner. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

Ham Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 1) Nanofil 10 lb with a leader. I've got a real nice system for making it last and getting 2-3 reels out of a spool. Properly filled, Even when used frequently, you're good for a year or more. 2) P Line CX Premium Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

Old plug Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I see a lot on here about leaders on casting and spinning outfits. I do bot think tour really accomplishing anything. what is it your trying to do with a leader. ?????? I have never used one. even o. stuff like Fireline.
