Quillback Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I saw a news blurb that this loss may cause some political turmoil in Brazil. I think the score was 3-0 when I stepped away for a second, came back and they were showing a re-play of another German score, I thought it must be the third goal they are showing again, but it was goal number 4. It was like the Brazilian defenders were rooted in place, the Germans would maneuver around them and kick the ball in.

I've heard that some people in the soccer world think that this game may have been fixed. I don't know for sure, but I think most of those guys make a pretty good living, so I don't know if I believe it. I guess it would only take 1 or 2 defenders to let them score a couple of easy goals to make it happen tho. Because there sure ain't no coming back in soccer. you get down 3 or 4 goals and its basically over.
ollie Posted July 9, 2014 Author Posted July 9, 2014 I have been saying fixed since I saw the score line. Just too hard for me to believe since I have been involved with soccer going on 35+ years. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

Wonder if anyone will follow the Brazil Players while they pick up there bonus.
ness Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 There's a rumor going around that the Brazilian mafia had a lot of money riding on the outcome. John
BATCAB27 Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 There's a rumor going around that the Brazilian mafia had a lot of money riding on the outcome. this is the most interesting thing I've ever heard about soccer
stlfisher Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Hadn't thought about a fix, but anything is possible. Brazi just did not show up.
Quillback Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 From what I am reading, having Argentina in the championship is yet another insult to Brazilian pride. If you have any Brazilian friends you want to give a hard time to, just hold up seven fingers next time you see them.
stlfisher Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Looks like germany took home the trophy. Well deserved and a great world cup to watch.
Quillback Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Saw the 2nd half, good game and thankfully it wasn't decided by penalty shots.
