Spent my first birthday on T R many years ago camping with my family at joe bald then hwy 13. Since, grew up fishing with my brothers and a close friend on the rock. Watched TR change over 50 years of my life. Now,I have a son who I would love for him to experience the wonderful days and nights fishing on once was the nicest lakes in the midwest. I have made up my mind years ago that TR would not be this place just for the reason you are talking about.Like Champ said "money" is what its all about. I have moved to another mo. lake for now.NO CONDOS,NO BARS ,NO GIANT BOATS,NO BULLCRAP. Just sunrises, water, fish, fresh air, and the memories of DAYS GONE BY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, Mr. B. (I refuse to call you the "Boo" name.)

Don't let on which other lake you have moved on to as the wake boaters, PWC & giant boats are listening and will follow you there. You are correct though, those days are gone except for early/late winter & spring trips (fall is for deer hunting). I just have a tough time letting go of fishing Table Rock.

You know i also went camping with my family at Joe Bald then Hwy 13, and grew up fishing with my brothers many times there. You would think we would have run into one another along the way.

Those who think there is no real issue here have not been involved with the extremes. Giant boats & wake boat are just not at all compatible with smaller watercraft. How many small boat a day take water over the bow or are almost swamped? You might think that as the death/serious injury toll builds, and damage to docks and boats in docks skyrockets, there could be some action to resolve issue. Guess the ratio of 99:1 small vs. giant boats at the lake means very little.

You just spent $135,000.00 for an Xboat Extreme and you think your going to be worried about gas at 5 bucks? When pigs fly. Guys lots and lots of these people are 6 figure a year folks anymore and gas prices are not going to hamper their summer lake fun. It is just getting horrible and really I have no answer

Good Luck

bill, the answer is to enforce the law. you are responsible for your wake. pwc are licensed the same as any other boat. so, they should have to follow the same safe boating rules. you would have given a ticket to any boat cutting all the di-does the they are doing on the pwc's. we have rules in place to stop the chaos. just enforce them.

Was up the James River arm around Walnut Springs yesterday. Saw 1 other fishing boat and no rec boats or jet skis. I wouldn't want to play in that area with all the floating logs and trees just under the water. Someone would get hurt!

I don't even know what a wakeboat is. And something tells me I don't want to know either.

It's a good time having a dock with main channel exposure. We had zero issues in the 70's, 80's and early 90's with dock repair other than replacing the walk-way boards and painting. Now it's yearly maintenance on welds, cable and winches. You could see it coming, a place this beautiful never remains a secret. They are throwing up mansions in Mill Creek at a fevered pace. The quiet lake I grew up on is no more I know its a dream, but it would be awesome if the COE would make a few creeks and coves no wake or ski zones.

Don't kid yourself about the price of fuel, throwing $1000.00 in the tank for the weekend is not a problem for these folks I don't understand burning that much fuel and getting drunk all day, just as they don't understand why I want to stick green fish all day.

thank god for bull shoals! TR is a nightmare right now.

One of my favorite things about Bulls Shoals, plus the good fishing. It's not as handy for us as TR is, though.

Any chance we all could just get along? I have a fish n ski, my daughter has a jetski. I have spent the last 35 years on the rock, have seen a lot of change. In the old days dad took me fishing in the morning, then when it got hot we broke out the water skis and tubes. I can understand the big boat problem with the wakes, does cause a problem but I just roll with it. The lakes our more crowded, everybody has a right to be there.. I will be fishing on sat morning, rest of family will be down sat afternoon, glad to put the rods in the rodbox and pull out the skis and take the family skiing..

I don't think this thread is at all about everyone just getting along as you put it. Far from that and also far from a little Fish and Ski pulling the kids around on a tube during mid day. That is pretty much old school and no one is fussing about that.

This is about huge wake making watercraft that are designed to throw huge wakes. It has been a problem from Campbell Point to Big M for quite a few years with at first the big 26 to 36 foot Cobalts and now that problem is compounded with the X boats. That are creating wake by filling bladders with water to create a bigger wave, to not ski on but to litterly surf behind the boat. With the narrow features of the lake in that area, ie more like the White River Channel, it is having a reverb effect and the waves have no place to disipate. They are not only damaging shoreline but personal property. As a boat operator you in Missouri are still responsible for your wake damage, and this needs to be enforced by what ever body and in whatever small amount they police Table Rock.

Another factor is more and more of these boats are out at sunrise. Guided out of Baxter a couple of days ago and was on the water at 5:30. guests at the Chalets on Table Rock Lake had 3 Xboats running in the mouth of the Big Indian and going back 1/2 mile past point 18 into the trees by 6:30.

Since just before the holiday weekend I have had these types of boats run between me and the bank towing and surfing from Baxter to Campbell point on the flat points on both sides of the lake. Sometimes these boats are running in under 8' of water and running thru trees. Does not seem to matter as ignorance is bliss.

None of us own the lake, but this is going to be a problem and someone is gong to get hurt by this type of non-responsible boat operation.

I take my kids tubing but not in the creek arms. Stay in the main lake and have a blast but please don't feel the need to ski and use pwc in the creek arms where ;people are just trying to avoid the wakes.

Actually we all own the lake. Whatever happened to the principle of your freedom ends where it starts to infringe on mine?
