The Ranger 375V looks kinda rough.

The old gel coat is cloudy or milky looking.

What type of restorer or treatment do I need to use? I don't have a buffer, was going to sponge or towel it on there.

The seats need something as they're getting dried out & flaky.

There is no long term fix for the gel coat. You can buff it out but it will come back. Meguire's Mirror Glaze is as good as you can get. Put a coat on every day until you see it making a change.

Meguire's Mirror Glaze has to be buffed out?

Is there a product that you can wipe on the boat?

Sorry, I didn't clarify myself. It has been a long hard day of farming and I am not making much sense.

Meguire's is for the seats. You just spray it on wipe it around with a rag and let it soak in. There really is no fix for the boat. Once it starts to oxidize it will keep on unless you have a new gel coat put on.

I have not used it myself, but I am interested in getting a kit from Pro-Tec. One of their products is a gel coat restoring product. You might give that a go.

Yep. 30w non-detergent motor oil. It's an old boat salesmans trick. It'll make it nice and glossy just long enough to get it off the lot.

No saving GC long term, trust me. It is a FISHING BOAT now.....Finally it's intended life has begun.

Sucks that your loosing it now. :)

Not familiar with the product or the procedure, but I rub elbows with some crackshot boat refinishing guys and they agree that there is no saving gelcoat.

You can rub and polish until your arms fall off but the first few days out in the weather will melt away all that effort.

I've used the meguires 3 stage kit with good results but you need a buffer. You also have to stay on top of it or it will come back.

That's the funniest thing I've heard, but it's worth a shot.

What exactly is non detergent motor oil?

3 in 1, or Gun oil basically. But it's cheaper to buy by the quart for what you wanna do.

Old tractors and engines like Briggs & Stratton 8hp or less that do not have a filter use Non-Detergent oil.
