junkman
I always was kind of envious of you guys that live close to the clear water streams here in MO. But after reading this article, I think the muddy watered rivers in my neck of the woods look mighty appealing. No floaters, no jet boats, even no conoers. Just a river to yourself and figure just maybe I have it better off. A matter of fact, I have never seen a jet boat in these parts ever. There are a few long props around which is what you need for navigating waters around here. But a trolling motor is a standard engine for the rivers around here. fishinwrench
Junkie, There used to be a few airboats up around New London. Meeting one of those basturds on the river was never a pleasure. You could hear them coming for 5 miles though so you had plenty of warning.
Seth
junkman, the crowds are pretty well just a summertime thing. From now till next June, you will mainly just see fishing traffic and that's very light. Fall, winter and spring are great times to be on the rivers. You can fish in solitude and the fishing are usually biting better anyways.
Blazerman
I spent most of the day on the Meramec yesterday and i had the whole river to myself. Never saw another soul and the fish were biting too. It was just me and the eagles taking advantage of it. Great day to be fishing. Water was perfect where i was by Redhorse..
