WettinLine Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Honestly I've lived in SWMO for eight or nine years and have never been to a Branson show or restaurant or used any service. I really wish it was more like the northern lakes, some populated other no commercial bs allowed. I think we all know if it didn't come down to the dollar which one 99 percent would like to live on.
Champ188 Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 WettinLine, do you not like this area? Funny thing about that road you came down here on ... if you get on the other side of the yellow line, it goes back north.
Members LAPD 616 Posted July 10, 2014 Members Posted July 10, 2014 I enjoy bowfishing. I also enjoy bass fishing. I get a little upset when someone pulls in front of me but I get over it pretty quick. I think everything will be ok.
johnboy2bfishin Posted July 10, 2014 Author Posted July 10, 2014 Well I was fishing the peninsula with the boat sitting in 30' of watercasting toward bank. They were on other side of lake running aroundthe flat pocket. As I seen them motor around ramp area I had my llights on and they disregarded my presence and came down the bank killed a few fish and turned around a couple of times in front of me. I don't have any problem with whatever you like to do on the water, just pull your head out of your back side and respect the rest of us on the water. This is big enough to accommodate all of us.
WettinLine Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Hey Champ, I do like this area I just prefer fishing without all the people or tournament traffic. I'd rather watch a donkey show than a bass weigh in!
Flysmallie Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 So if they add a donkey show to the bow fishing tournament weigh in everybody should be fine. Courtesy is a thing of the past. Â Â
Feathers and Fins Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Bill anytime you want me to show you how to clean a gar fast let me know. Pair of tin snips and a sharp fillet knife and its no more difficult that popping a back strap out of a deer and they do taste so good. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

Yes I like the small towns not the Branson tourist leaches, but like I said I avoid it. What do I get as a tax payer for these business owners pocketing more money from a event? I have to deal with more car traffic, added lake traffic, and more unknowns potential stealing my zebco 202 out of my boat!

You don't like tourists or those who profit from them, but you moved to the Branson/Table Rock Lake area? That reminds me of people who build houses on the golf course and then complain when a golf ball ends up in their yard. I'm not an expert on crime, but I strongly doubt that tourists are to blame for the current run of thefts on the lake.
