Flysmallie Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 LOZ vs. TR 2014!!!! LOZ to your corner, TR to your corner when the bells rings come out swinging!! It's no contest, TR wins. LOZ is a great fishing lake but the amount of traffic on it is crazy compared to TR. But TR is doing a pretty good job of playing catch-up. I like them both though because they keep the people that I want to stay away from, away from the really good lakes.
Old plug Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I am not going to argue with anybody about what lake is better etc. I will only say again that as TR ages there will be more and more affeaunants entering the lake. ABkEENAN. Tell me what do affuents look like. since you have seen them here in the lake with your very eyes.

Members troller Posted July 15, 2014 Members Posted July 15, 2014 Getting back to the original subject of bowfishing. I finally broke the underwater camera out today to check and see what was loitering under my dock. The last time was 5-6 weeks ago. From 10 -18 feet it was loaded with carp and what appeared to be large "red" suckers. I"m not saying a few but at least 30-40 of each with an occasional channel cat mixed in. Not a Bass, Crappie, or Bluegill even out to 35 feet.Have never seen this before in my 6 years down here. Maybe we do have a problem brewing here??
glennL Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I have also seen more gar and snakes then in the past. More bow tournaments are ok with me. Glenn
Goggle-Eyed Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Even a "city boy" can see the difference in the water quality with the naked eye. Then take "city boy" e.coli studies into account in which you would be better off drinking the water off the streets of Calcutta than to jump in the water at LOZ within 10 miles of party cove. Heaven forbid eat a fish that swims in that cesspool of a lake. I'll pass and take my city slicker behind a little further south to Table Rock instead. really I hope you do. tell your friends about it also. LOL, Yep LOZ sucks, it is dirty, nasty and the fish are all gone.... go some where else if you are a fisherman!!!! I have said it before, I still think it is cleaner than the late 80's. Has party cove ever tested high for E-Coli? I know PB2 has and I know of a couple of other areas, but I don't recall Anderson Holler being one of them?
WettinLine Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 I have also seen more gar and snakes then in the past. More bow tournaments are ok with me. Does anyone remember what time of year that BPS bow fishing tournament was held, I do. Those bass where on their beds, getting kicked off my a dozen boats in those two nights. I'm sure non of those ethical teams shot any big old bass, and all of the bass guys are welcoming more tourneys like it. I'll look back at my other phone and dig up a pic of two toad largemouth on the bank a night after that bow tournament. Some of you are so blind!
Old plug Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 GOGGLE-EYED. If You get over to this area try to to visit the treatment plant that belongs to the Morgan county Sewer District. It is state of the art. The treatment is so extensive when the water leaves the plant it is. totally sterile. there is nothing in it at all. They have a final system of some sort of lights that the water flows. under that assures that.
glennL Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 I would be open to limiting when the bow tournaments were held, like during spawn season. It's 6 of one or half dozen of another. I saw a lot of splashing up shore, hoping it was bass, only to see it was tons of carp, destroying beds or chasing after fry this past spring. So, how many more bass would be saved at the expense of a few carp, that are beginning to be seen in larger numbers? So, does less carp mean more bass? No one is saying that bow fisherman killing bass is ok either. Glenn
