denjac Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Been several months since I have got to go fishing due to my wifes health. Shes getting better by the day. She had throat cancer and so far its all gone. Had pneumonia 4 weeks ago. Icu for 8 days and 13 day in hospital. She now has a trach tube and a peg tube. Hope to have those out in a couple of months. Back to fishing . Fished Indian point area today and first spot they were killing the fin. Had 7 on it with 4 keeps. They flat killed it, not the peck and miss fin bite. they were done at 7am. Went to some flatter gravel stuff and caught 2 or 3 off each spot with tube and jig. Most were smallies. I expect by the end of the week you are going to have to get a number to fish the runoffs up in the dam area. Did stumble across a couple of brush piles I didn't now existed and caught couple off those. Anyway ended up with 14 or 15 with 5 keeps. Maybe 12 pounds. Bite was pretty well over for me by 10am. Fished until 11.30. Boat traffic was moderate by not bad by any means. Dennis Boothe Joplin Mo. rps Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 First, and most important, I am pleased - heck, I am sure we all are pleased - to hear your wife is recovering. She doesn't know me, but tell her she has my best wishes. Second, thank you for the most positive report I have seen in a while.
Bill Babler Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Great report Denny, glad you all are down and going at it. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Champ188 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Thanks for sharing the great news about Jackie. Been a lot of folks praying for you guys. Look forward to seeing her back in that new boat with you, if for no other reason than to ensure you aren't BS-ing us about all these fish you're catching. Just kiddin', pal. Good job of figuring them out. Most July days, 12 pounds will put you at or near the top in a derby.

Pepe Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 It is great to hear your wife is recovering. This whole thing has got to be very stressful for your whole family. Glad to hear you got a break and caught some fish. Thanks for the report and some encouragement on the topwater bite.

Members Laney Posted July 13, 2014 Members Posted July 13, 2014 I know a lot of people use the "fin" and I know it is the redfin, But what is the color, could someone put a picture of this lure on here. I am not familiar with it and would like to know what it is and the best colors. Thanks for the info.
Champ188 Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 Smoky Joe and chrome/blue will cover your color needs.
