Justin Spencer Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Nice healthy looking coon. No need to kill him, just take him for a drive. Coons get car sick, he'd make a nice cap! Quillback Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I'd be merciful and take him for a ride (unless of course you want a hat). Hopefully you've got a pickup and you can just put him in the bed for his ride. I'm probably more cautious than most, but I'd tie a few feet of rope onto the door, so that when you open it to let him out you can stand off a bit.
Guest Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I took him down to a little creek that I used to wade fish in college. Lots of crawdads & oak trees there. I felt good about turning him loose. #Good Karma
fishinwrench Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Good man. The buzzards are fat, the world already has enough dead things on it.

Guest Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I killed one about 5 years ago. I swear it put a curse on me. Bad luck followed me. It feels a whole lot better to release a critter vs killing them. If it was a skunk, it would be dead though.
jdmidwest Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Dang fur would have been too thin to make a cap this time of year. Did you let him wonder off a little before you capped him? I know the release pic was just for the humane society. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

If you act cool, you can go free. This dude chose FREEDOM!! I feel good about it, bc I've shot plenty of furry critters in my life. I've got nothing to prove. Just having fun on a Sunday afternoon with family. My son is enamored with "coon"!!!! Seriously, he starts screaming it & jumping up & down. That's really why I'm doing it.
WettinLine Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Internet Troll or Flamer? Old Plug qualifies as both, Noun A person who, on a message forum of some type, attacks and flames other members of the forum for any of a number of reasons such as rank, previous disagreements, sex, status, ect. A troll usually flames threads without staying on topic, unlike a "Flamer" who flames a thread because he/she disagrees with the content of the thread. Noun A member of an internet forum who continually harangues and harasses others. Someone with nothing worthwhile to add to a certain conversation, but rather continually threadjacks or changes the subject, as well as thinks every member of the forum is talking about them and only them. Trolls often go by multiple names to circumvent getting banned It sounds like you, and your son are having a blast, who can knock that? Oh Old Plug and the LOZ gang! Keep up the stories they are funny, and your son will have a lifetime of memories.
