Most predators of the Americas, such as wolves, foxes and badgers, seldom attack skunks, presumably out of fear of being sprayed. The exceptions are dogs, reckless predators whose attacks fail once they are sprayed, and the great horned owl.[9] It is the skunk's only regular predator.[10] In one case, the remains of 57 striped skunks were found in a single owl nest.[11]

We have a couple of really large owls that frequently swoop down for mice & baby rabbits.

Skunks are reluctant to use this weapon, as they carry just enough of the chemical for five or six uses – about 15 cc – and require some ten days to produce another supply

He blew 3 loads last night, 2 more & he's toast.

Im moving the nastiest trash over near the trap with the lid off.

The 12 gauge magnum is going to bark up his back tonight.

Or Im getting sprayed & kicked out of the house for a few days.

Either way, somebody is about to lose this grudge match.

I would be very careful with him. I don't think his behavior is normal so I would be very careful around any of its blood. Last time i killed a sick coon I poured bleach over anything that looked like his blood or could have been a body fluid. I think I would do the same when the skunk meets his maker.

I've developed a coon problem. The little coon that was on the porch a while back has now rounded up his sibling and they're creating havoc on both of my porches. I have a bunch of garden stuff on the back porch and they're knocking it all over looking for food. Unfortunately the cat food wasn't brought in the other night so they are encouraged more now.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Good idea, might make a funny movie to watch.

I agree with Wayne, not normal behavior. Maybe a rabid skunk.

Most skunks are pretty clean animals and you never know they are around. Pretty fur, makes good fllies. Nice color of black and shiny, like a soft black bear fur.

Burn the remains to keep other critters from getting infected with the rabies.

set up the gopro

My game camera has a video function, it snaps a photo followed by a 10 second video clip.

I know there's a way to live-stream a GoPro camera but im not sure how to set that up.

TrophyFishR anything they have that's nasty will normally be in their blood. You just don';t want it on you if possible and you don't want your dog licking it. Skunks are notorious for rabies and it seems that ou never know when it will pop up.
