Fishrman Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 These fish are in pockets, from what I have found smaller rock type of pockets, gravel best, later in the day as you can guess, need a little structure such as wood or shade. Try some plastics also that make a commotion.
fishingaddiction Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Good info Fish. This time of year we'll all scratching our heads trying to catch fish on something other than with a drop shot. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Travis Swift Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 I fished a tournament at Grand lake last weekend and i know it's not relevant to Table Rock a ton but the guys that placed in the top 3 were all fishing shallow flats in the back of coves about 3 feet deep or less fishing any kind of wood they could find. They were so shallow you would of thought they were bow fishing and it was about 100 degrees outside. Go figure.
TRRANGER Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Guys, when I was a kid we lived in Texas and in the summer we would fish up the Brazos River on the big sand flats with lightly weighted rogues, to make easier to cast. We would be in 6 ft of water or less and throw them as far as you could (ie the extra weight) and reel them as fast as you could and stop and start them. Hang on cause it was a violent strike they were angry and the hotter it got the better the fishing was. Deep fishing was 12 ft and then there was the crazy striper guys but thats another discusion altogether. Fish dont all live deep some are happy with their backs outa the water all year.
