I also had a person in a Phoenix boat with dual doofus extending shallows anchors stop and take my break line buoy. I had to chase him down the lake to get it back. He was nice once I caught him, but who picks up a marker buoy that does not belong to them?

the highway patrol boat stole my buoys couple years back, smh

Nothing more aggravating than someone stealing your marker buoy. I've tried a couple tactics. The first was I spray painted all of my markers buoys blue so they blend in with the water making them harder for passerby's to spot. I then took a permanent marker and wrote on them all "This marker buoy is not abandoned, please don't be a cheap *** and steal another guys marker buoy" I've yet to have any stolen since I tried these adjustments. Though I have learned to never leave them out of sight for long.

When will the summer weekend madness end this year? Do we have to wait until Labor Day has passed?

Most of the area schools start August 18. That will cut down the weekday traffic by a large percent. The weekend traffic will die off after Labor day.

That's crazy. I assume he could see you so it's hard to imagine why he would pick up the buoy? My guess would be that he fishes deep ruts normally with his anchors and doesn't understand that a TR fisherman might find them handy?

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I got a big laugh out of Babler's description of those boats. " Backhoe Boats " !! :secret-laugh::secret-laugh:

Randy you lost all your marbles over the appliances and trying to end it before the boss gets back... No sane person or wanting to live would have fished that zone on a weekend before mid September earliest.

Then again Yakfm and I fished Beaver last night in the dark and had boats passing us with no lights and plenty come within 50 to 70 feet waking us. These lakes are getting to be stupid.

The boat running wide open well after dark with no lights and the every 15 minute wakings from passing pleasure boats was bad enough, but for me the most troubling part of the night was the moron towing the kids on the tube just prior to sunset. The driver of the boat cut us off as he swung the tube with two kids (one with no life jacket) directly in our path, forcing us to hard stop from a full plane. Then the driver proceeded to pull the kids over a stump filled flat in maybe 2-3' of water, only to be topped by swinging the kids close enough to the high spot protruding above water that they could have used it as a jump ramp. Said high spot was also covered in stumps. None of the "adults" in the tow boat were looking back serving as spotter either. Typical day in the Summer on Beaver or TR, it seems. I am looking forward to Fall.

I'm convinced there isn't a better theater for mind-numbing stupidity than your nearest navigable body of water. I used to fish two days a week straight thru the summer. These days, the golf sticks get worked a lot harder than the Ranger from June to September. Of course, there's a whole nuther tribe of idiots on the golf course. :pissed-off::angry1:
