hoglaw Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Haven't been fishing much lately. My wife and I are supposed to close Tuesday on a house and 5 acres on Osage creek between tontitown and Siloam. There's one spot with great creek acess on the property (most of the frontage is extremely steep except the one spot). From what I can tell, there's a float to the house and a float from the house to chambers springs on the Illinois. We are extremely excited...and broke! I've always wanted a house I could canoe to and from. Osage was the only thing that fit the bill and was still close enough to our respective places of employment.

Robert Haynes Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Congratulations, buying a house is like shifting gears In a truck, you loose a little momentum financially but you gain it back when you get in a higher gear.
1969Larson Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 What an awesome spot. Congrats! I would unpack one or two boxes before jumping in the creek... well at least the ones with my tubes and tiny flukes.
Greasy B Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 What an awesome spot. Congrats! I would unpack one or two boxes before jumping in the creek... well at least the ones with my tubes and tiny flukes. Great advice. You made your own dream come true, good job. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. bfishn Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Good on you! Osage is a real sleeper, one of the few streams in the Ozarks with a state hatchery in the headwaters. It's not so much about escapees (though it happens) as it is about the nutrient load that makes for productive growth downstream. Locals there used to be pretty hush. but they're mostly gone now and the new crop doesn't seem to know or care beyond noticing the "live water" box was checked on their MLS. Been at least 15 years since I fished it, looking forward to your experiences. I can't dance like I used to.
gramps50 Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 We're happy for you. Always nice to fulfill a dream, enjoy.
rps Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 pictures please - not of the house unless you want, but of the stream
