Greasy B Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Some darn nice fish. With all the internet exposure and guide services now advertising trips I had thrown in the towel on CC, maybe prematurely. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974

cnr Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 18.5" was the longest fish. The numbers were down this time but all the fish were quality and fat. I unfortunately lost my biggest fish ever (again), I seem to be making that a bad habit. The darn thing broke off on a violent head shake, totally my fault, didn't give it the respect it deserved and pushed it too hard. We got a good look at it when it jumped and JoeD estimated over 20". Who knows, good times and fun to do battle. Some other fun photos. Gotta appreciate the attitude of this little guy!
moguy1973 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 I had a small one about that size hit my walk the dog last time I was out. When he hit I yanked him up out of the water and he and the bait flew and crashed into the side of my kayak. Unfortunately that was the last bite that little guy took because it knocked him out cold, no more swimming from the little guy. Not sure what they are thinking when they bite a bait that is bigger than they are. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
cnr Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Here are a few more photos from the trip. this was a 3 day trip on CC in late July. Check out the awesome new canoe seats. Gotta have a little comfort at my age! This was the 18.5" fish A nice fat fish Joe brought to hand Same fish, absolutely inhaled the tube jig.
