Wayne SW/MO Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I really hated to see it. I think Bradford had the tools to be an outstanding pro QB and to go down again anytime is tough, but preseason seems expecially hard. I do think he's done. It would appear they can't bring that kmee back to normal and I would imagine that will be the final diagnoses. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
stlfisher Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Yeah total bummer and I can't help but think he was rushed back into action a bit to quickly. I had my ACL, MCL, and meniscus surgery and it took me a full two years before I was 100%. My doctor only let me run in a straight line 9 months after surgery and did not clear me for sports until 18months. Even with 24 hour care of a professional athlete there is only so much you can do rehab wise until the body strengthens the new ACL enough to have a sturdy knee. For some they are not ready 1 year removed.
Wayne SW/MO Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I haven't heard, was he wearing a brace? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
stlfisher Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I would think it is almost a given he was wearing a brace, but a lot of differing opinions if they are really beneficial or not. Really feel bad for Bradford and the Rams need a good season to generate some interest. This is certainly a tough blow for the team.
ozark trout fisher Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Feel bad for Bradford. That said, the Rams need to move on at QB. He's only average-slightly above average when healthy, and he's almost never healthy. I wouldn't waste assets on trading for Mark Sanchez or Christian Ponder as some have speculated, though. They are still good enough to get to around .500 based on the rest of the roster, even without a real QB. They aren't making the playoffs in that division this season anyway, so there's no reason for a desperation move. Honestly, I don't know how many wins this injury costs the Rams. Maybe 1-2, but perhaps not even that. They should just wait a draft and new QB next spring and find some other desperate team willing to trade for Bradford when he gets healthy.
moguy1973 Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I haven't heard, was he wearing a brace? Yes he was, and it wasn't even that hard of a hit. Almost looked like his toe caught on the turf and cause it to tweak. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
David Unnerstall Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I was of the opinion that we should have drafted some talented offensive linemen before we drafted Bradford. Curt Warner got beat to crap and so did Bulger. I was concerned Bradford could not stay healthy. I am even surprised he showed up to work on Sundays.
Ham Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I'm pretty confident Bradford is done with the Rams and likely done in the NFL. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
stlfisher Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Yeah...I think he is done with the rams for sure.
