ruthead Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Yep, Maty has a little "Happy Feet Syndrome". Still not many games under his feet. I think he'll get better. "Pretty soon we may not have any rights left because it might infringe on someone's rights"
ozark trout fisher Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Maty Mauk is still struggling, but Mizzou just had perhaps the weirdest blowout win over an SEC opponent in the history of ever. Whatever, at this point. I've given up on figuring them out. If they can beat Vandy, and clinch a bowl bid I'll just relax and enjoy the rest of the season. But we could easily turn right around and lose to Vandy 24-0, so again, whatever. I love this team, but they are impossible to figure out.
stlfisher Posted October 19, 2014 Author Posted October 19, 2014 Yeah...weirdest game ever....just don't even know what to say...I was just kinda stunned watching it.

One thing I think we can say with certainty: the Will Muschamp era is over at Florida. It might happen this week, or in late November, but it's over. I kinda like the guy, but he's way out of his depth. He's a great DC but apparently not meant to be an HC at an SEC school.
Feathers and Fins Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Something is going on in the Mizz O-line and I cant figure it out, Maty had plenty of time several times but FL had great coverage on his receivers but he made smart plays not forced ones for bad turnovers. He ran great a couple times but not often. I saw numerous times he could have ran but did not. I am starting to question the play calls for him or maybe the more specifically the not allowing of calls from him. I am just getting a feeling when it comes to the O-line something is going on behind the scenes, the talent is there but they look frustrated and not just from game play. I could be wrong but I think something more is going on. As to the Razorbacks, dam its hard being a razorbacks fan. BAD QB no doubt about that its time to pull him but in his brother and start building him up for next year and year after, at least lets see if he has the right stuff or do we need to look further for a good QB, we need a dual threat QB a good WR and a Pair of safeties and a good kicker. I think we are 4 to 5 players short of a great team that could go 10-2 or better for several seasons. Problem is this is College ball and good players don't last more than 2 years before they go to the NFL so building a long run team means great year in year out recruiting and that requires winning. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

You know it's a strange game when the line looks like this Score: 42-13 First downs: 7-17 Total offensive yards: 119-283 Passing: 20-148 Rushing: 99-135 Penalties: 11/74-3/39 Possession: 26:01-39:59 Then this last one explains things. Al Agnew Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Play calling was...weird. It was obvious Florida's defense was too good and too fast to allow the outside runs, while inside runs were getting decent yardage...so they ran it outside the whole second half. Mauk was actually trying to stay in the pocket, but the receivers were usually covered well. He at least didn't run backward when he scrambled. But where were the short slants and other quick-developing pass routes to allow him to get the ball out quickly? And how many times do you have to run wide receiver screens before noticing that they aren't working, or call fades at the goal line? And the either calling or changing the play at the line of scrimmage EVERY play...which was part of the reason for some of the delay of game penalties, and didn't work, because FL knew it was going to happen and usually changed their defensive alignment after the play was finally called. Maybe they ought to just huddle, call the play, step up to the line, and run it...let the defense adapt or not adapt to what is called. Let Mauk just play instead of trying to think for a while.

They start the game burning almost 8 minutes off the clock, march down the field, score a TD, then it takes GA all of a minute and a half to answer. I'm tired of watching opposing receivers get behind the AR secondary and making big plays. Play calling drives me crazy also, they run the ball well the first series they have it, then come out throwing the 2nd and 3rd series? You have to throw every once in a while to keep the other guys D honest, but it is not AR's strength at all. Georgia is looking strong right now.
Feathers and Fins Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Georgia is scary looking simple as that, But ya we ran great that first series that is our strength and it shows... why the passing I have no dam idea what that is all about but it is stupid. Lets ground and pound get a very comfortable lead and then and ONLY then lets try a few pass plays and see if we can build that aspect but not until we have a comfortable lead and if the pass doesn't work go back to beating them up. The pass in our scheme is a honesty keeper and not part of our main game or atleast that is how it should be https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Ham Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I enjoyed the LSU game. I enjoyed the results of the Missouri game. I'm frustrated with the Piggies. Who are they? Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
