aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Does anyone have any suggestions for a resort to stay at. Im pretty open to any place on Stockton not partial to any part of the lake. Not looking for a 5 star pricey cabin just a place to catch some zzzzz's when i get done fishing that is close to the water
Dutch Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 There is a motel not far from Rouark Bluff up by Sons Creek Marina. They have places to stay at Stockton State Park.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted September 2, 2014 Author Posted September 2, 2014 any part, not real familiar with it but kinda wanting to explore some new territory
Bird Watcher Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 there's also maybe a couple motels up at the town of Stockton. I think tradewinds is the name of the place Dutch is referencing
zarraspook Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Check this link of the map of motels on the lake.....Click on a dot and it will give you the contact info... I have heard Stone Creek Lodge clean and between mid price & cheap... Please post the one you choose and a evaluation of the place..( I am going to need one next spring - sold my camper ) https://www.google.com/maps/search/stockton+lake+motels/@37.5574126,-93.698138,11z/data=!3m1!4b1 "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
Unimog Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 For cleanliness, price, and convenience I've found owl haven hard to beat but that's my opinion. You have a ramp, groceries, restaurants and gas within a mile circle.
mjk86 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Ive stayed at southwinds, happy os, orleans trail, amd the state park no complaints on any. I prefer south winds and happy os but only due to the locatiion.
Walleyedmike Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 It's been a couple of years, but I have stayed at Owl Haven and Orleans Trail. Both were acceptable. There are also duplexes at Stockton State park which are very nice, (stayed there several years ago) and some little log cabins in the State Park camp grounds which are cheaper. You have to use the campground bath houses and I don't think they have kitchens, but they look nice if your just looking for a place to sleep. I would kind of prefer the Stockton State park area as you have ramps at the state park and Hartley. Both good ramps on the big and Little Sac arms within a mile of each other as the wind on Stockton can make one arm preferrable to the other. Best of luck! WM
Lifes2Short Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I have stayed at the Oak Park Motel in Greenfield, pretty scary place....... And I don't require much.
